Flush mount fixtures generally do not have much of a drop off the ceiling. But as an LED, the life of these fixtures will last for at least 35,000 hours, they will produce no heat and unlike fluorescent bulbs and there is no worry about poisonous Mercury or lead.
Like normal lamps, different fixtures will have different light output. Color temperatures will vary as some companies offer various color temperatures and others offer only one.
