Recessed lighting is a perfect application for LEDs. Since LEDs need good heat management (to deal with internal heat), the space provided in a recessed housing allows for excellent sizable heat sinks.
These LED fixtures are available in a range of sizes and light output. Larger sizes are generally less expensive than smaller since there is more space for the manufacturers to fit all the components. A larger size doesn't necessarily mean more light, though. Light output depends not only on the wattage, but on the efficiency of the LED used. For example, our 4" down light is brighter than some of our 6" fixtures.
